Savory Sounds 2024 Concert Series
Concert Times: All concerts are held on Thursdays from 11:30am - 12:45pm.
Location: Outside the Cultural Arts Center (CAC) / Flat Iron Park (next to the Birge Fountain), 402 W Main St, Whitewater.
Rain or Shine: Normally held outdoors on the lawn. In the event of inclement weather, the concerts are moved inside the CAC and seating is provided.
Seating: If the concert is held outside, please consider bringing a lawn chair or blanket. A few picnic tables and benches around the Birge Fountain are also available.
Food & Refreshments: Food and other refreshments will be available from the food vendor or bring your own lunch.
Parking: CAC lot and city street parking is available with additional parking available at First English Lutheran Church.
June 20 – Peggy Mueller & Friends
:: German-fest Music
Dressed in traditional German garb, Peggy Mueller & Friends offer German folk music accompanied by acoustic guitar, concertina, and assorted rhythm instruments. They perform regularly at the Old German Beer Hall in Milwaukee.

June 27 – The Currach Irish Trio
:: Irish Folk & Reel
Currach Irish Trio, featuring Daithi Wolfe on fiddle, Darl Ridgely on bodhran, and Josh Perkins on guitar - and all three as “exceptional and spirited vocalists!” They play traditional Celtic songs and tunes monthly at Alt Brew in Madison.

July 11 – Piper Road Spring Band
:: Bluegrass
Piper Road Spring Band has been a Whitewater and regional bluegrass band favorite since their days 40 years ago when they played weekends at the Green Dragon on Blackhawk Island. Fiddle, mandolin, string bass, guitar, and washboard are their classic makeup.

July 18 – Amanecer Y Más (Marco Wence Trio)
:: Hispanic
The Marco Wence Trio is a well-known group here in Whitewater, playing Hispanic music that will warm your heart and move your feet to tapping. They are a favorite of Savory Sounds Concerts, having played here two years ago.

Jimmy Sugarcane’s Nigerian heritage and formerly London-based operation has yielded an interesting perspective and a distinctive blend of sounds and styles. Jimmy Sugarcane, as reggae/dub-fusion artists is an active dancehall force in Madison.
