And…wait for it…Savory Sounds returns this month!

WAA’s annual Savory Sounds Concert Series resumes on June 20 when Peggy Mueller & Friends offer German folk music accompanied by acoustic guitar, concertina, and assorted rhythm instruments. Please join us in thanking concert sponsor Fairhaven. True to the theme of German-fest Music, food vendor Annie’s Burgertown, a popular food truck from Elkhorn, will be offering a selection of German and American food.

Join us June 27 for Irish Folk & Reel group Currach Irish Trio, featuring Daithi Wolfe on fiddle, Darl Ridgely on bodhran, and Josh Perkins on guitar - and all three as “exceptional and spirited vocalists!” Please join us in thanking concert sponsor First Citizens State Bank. The trio’s traditional Celtic songs and tunes will be nicely complemented by food vendor Annie’s Burgertown, who will be offering a selection of Irish and American food.

Concert Times: All concerts are held on Thursdays from 11:30am - 12:45pm at Flat Iron Park (next to the Birge Fountain), 402 W Main St, Whitewater.

Rain or Shine: Normally held outdoors on the lawn, in the event of rain, the concerts are moved indoors to the Cultural Arts Center.

Seating: Bring your lawn chairs and/or blankets but if the concert gets moved indoors you won’t need them.

Food & Refreshments: Food and other refreshments will be available from the food vendor or bring your own lunch.

Parking: CAC parking lot and city street parking is available with additional parking is available at First English Lutheran Church.

Special Thanks: Our thanks to all of the Savory Sounds Concert Series sponsors who make these events possible: An Anonymous Donor, Coburn Company, Fairhaven, First Citizens State Bank, Fort Community Credit Union, PremierBank, and Olm & Associates. The City of Whitewater bends over backwards to help us and we appreciate it. None of our activities would be possible without our loyal volunteers, members, sponsors, and donors. If you are not already part of our team we would love to have you on the roster.

Another annual favorite has returned:

A Retrospective

Samples of creativity, past and present, produced by the Whitewater Community

Public Art Project 2024

This year we are pleased to present a retrospective of our Public Art Projects of the past together with new artwork by the five schools of the Whitewater Unified School District.

From birds and butterflies to chairs and quilts, our past Public Art Projects have brought beauty and creativity to Whitewater. These projects have not only enhanced our physical environment, but have also fostered a sense of community pride and engagement.

As we reflect on these past projects, we are reminded of the power of art to inspire, uplift, and connect us. We are grateful for the support of our community, and look forward to continuing to bring art to the public spaces of Whitewater.

We invite art enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds to visit one or many of our programs this summer at the Cultural Arts Center.

We look forward to a bright future in 2024 and beyond.
