Kim Witte of Witte Artistry finds that creating artwork on the skin to be a unique experience. One must think about their canvas: how it bends, the surface area available, and what can be physically reached/seen. Witte gets to create living breathing artwork with herself as the canvas. Each makeup work seen has been created by Witte on her own skin. For a brief moment, Witte can be her favorite character, or a different animal, or something completely out of this world.

Kim Witte is a lover of fantasy, monsters, and food which is all reflected within her artwork. Why not combine the things one loves? She enjoys creating makeup works and more permanent artforms, especially painting. Witte believes that each art form has a skill set to discover that comes in handy when working in other mediums.

For her most recent body paint series, called “Food Hands”, Kim Witte has transformed her hand into surreal amalgamations of food inspired by her trips to the farmers market and her very own garden. Each design is a surreal experience designed to make one do a double take. Witte created this series to build interest in her cookbook “Noodles & Doodles” that is currently available on Amazon.
