Whitewater Arts Alliance Announces Winner of Logo Contest

The Whitewater Arts Alliance announced that Maggie Buchholz Radaj, a Graphic Designer at GMA Printing, has won the 10th Anniversary Logo Contest and will receive $100 for her colorful, creative artwork. A number of 10th Anniversary events are planned, and a logo will be used for publicity. While not requiring any particular words or symbols, the committee judged on how well the logo expressed the 10th anniversary and the iconic building.

Virginia Coburn, 10th Anniversary Committee member, said, "Our committee received eight different logos, and all of them were creative and interesting. We all agreed that Maggie's use of the building, the panels featuring various depictions of the arts, and the colorful creativity of her work made her logo a wonderful representation of the importance of the Cultural Arts Center building to the Whitewater Arts Alliance."

The year 2017 marks the 10th year that the Whitewater Arts Alliance has had a home base, the Cultural Arts Center, on 402 West Main Street. The White Building, which formerly housed the library, is a prominent and historic building in its park setting on Main Street, and it is a landmark like no other in Whitewater.

Maggie Radaj is a Graphic Designer at GMA Printing, downtown Whitewater. She has worked the last 19 years in art-related jobs and is also a photographer and website designer. In addition, she is the Christian Education Director at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Whitewater. She is a wife and mother of four, and she has lived in Whitewater for more than 16 years. She loves working in Whitewater, because it allows her to witness all of the amazing ways that the community comes together to support each other and those organizations that need a helping hand.
